ABOUT AMBER
For the last 15 years, Amber has been working toward her dream of saving the world. As a Human Rights major at Columbia University, she took a macro approach to understanding conflict and trauma, completing her thesis on overcoming the impact of sexual violence in post-genocide Rwanda. Working with organizations such as UNAIDS and Doctors Without Borders, she became familiar with some of the most shocking brutalities the human experience has to offer. Inspired by social medicine pioneer Dr. Paul Farmer, she followed her heart into healthcare.
After completing her post-baccalaureate premedical program at Harvard University, Amber immersed herself in clinical research at two cutting-edge institutions: Methodist Hospital in Houston and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. She matriculated to Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine in 2011, but took a leave of absence after her first year when she was diagnosed with debilitating depression and anxiety. Despite having no history of mental illness, Amber was prescribed a course of antidepressant and anti-anxiety medications and encouraged to carry on without further investigation. Disillusioned by how disconnected Western medicine had become from honoring the body’s innate wisdom, she was forced to reconsider a career path that required her to abandon her own well-being in the name of healing others.
Amber returned to New York City for several years to explore other avenues of effecting meaningful change, designing patient-centered products in healthcare tech and expanding the reach of meditation with a corporate wellness start-up. During this time, she immersed herself in her own quest for holistic health. Amber quickly found her way off prescription drugs supported by an array of alternative healing modalities such as integrative nutrition, yoga, meditation, energy healing, hypnotherapy, plant medicine and breathwork.
Having developed a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, Amber returned to graduate school to pursue her master’s in Integral Counseling Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She completed her clinical training at an addiction treatment facility in Los Angeles, and began PhD coursework in Transpersonal Psychology in the spring of 2019. Today, Amber continues on her personal journey for wholeness, understanding now that saving the world is an inside job.

They asked her,
“What is the key to saving the world?”
She answered,
“You. You are the key. Heal yourself, know yourself,
make yourself whole and free. Release all limits so
that your love can flow unconditionally for yourself
and the world, this will open the heaven of your
heart completely and it will guide you without fail."
